Hi
Friends!
Yesterday morning I awoke to a beautiful sun…stepped out on the
deck to 50 degree weather! And the last few days it has been in the
60’s…thank you Lord for the fall. That brilliant time when the minds of
artists everywhere - oppressed for months by heat that evaporates the
creative juices - come back to life.
That being said, it
was a still great summer! The “Road To Ohio” release party was
FANTASTIC! Many thanks to all who helped and all who attended; and
special thanks to The Ohio Glass Museum. If you haven’t yet heard
“Road To Ohio”, click around the site, or visit the myspace page (www.myspace.com/sarahhartmusic).
“SaintSong”, my new
recording for Spirit and Song, will be releasing in January of 2009. It
is being mixed as I type. I am so excited about the way it’s turning
out! We are not taking any pre-orders, but check back in January.
I am now writing for
both Spirit and Song, and EMI-CMG in Nashville. It’s been a wonderful
and enlightening year! I will try to get new songs that are being cut
listed under the “Songwriting” section of the website. I would love for
you to support those artists and the fine work they are doing, too.
Spirit and Song
(www.spiritandsong.com) is a really great resource for contemporary
liturgy leaders. I encourage you, if you fall into this category (or
even if you don’t), to check out “The Commons”. What I love about The
Commons is that it not only introduces you to new music, but to the
writers behind the songs and their stories about why they were written.
And since songwriting is my passion, I can’t say enough about how cool
that is!
For any print
questions, please, please, please check the aforementioned
Spirit and Song website, or try
www.ocp.org, or call
1-800-548-8749. I promise (really!) that if you e-mail me asking for
print I will not be able to provide it for you. But please, if there is
something you would like to see in print, let the fine folks at Spirit
and Song know about it.
The Tom Tichenor
Theater is running an adaptation of Jules Verne’s “The Strange Case of
Dr. Trifulgas” (music by me and friend Jeremy Bose) every Saturday at
2:00 through the end of October. The show is also traveling to middle
schools throughout Nashville. It’s spooky! And so cool…I went to see it
last weekend, but without my kids (it’s for the older crowd). Check it
out if you live nearby. I am now working on music for the next
production – Cinderella – which will be a ball!

It’s shaping up to
be a very busy fall, and I know I will be seeing a lot of you this
cooled and inspiring season. Until then, peace and more peace -
